Valentin had already been to Morocco several times and really enjoyed this country with its great biodiversity, where he was able to observe many different animal species. Morocco has the richest mammalian fauna in North Africa.

Through friends of friends in the mammal watching community, he first heard about Haytam Iallaten and decided to meet him on his last trip to Morocco.
Haytam told him about his PhD plans and, above all, his firm intention to prove that the caracal is still present in Morocco.
This is a wonderful initiative that Felis is very happy to support. Valentin sensed his great commitment and interest. As a first step, we have supported him with 10 camera traps, which he has already received.

We are looking forward to this new collaboration on a new continent that is very accessible for us and are excited to see how things develop.
